Sairme is a balneological resort area in Georgia, 950 meters above sea level. It is distinctive with coniferous and deciduous forests and mountain climate, but more importantly, with therapeutic, mineral rich and thermal water deposits. During several decades it has been a main resort zone in Georgia. Day 1: Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Tbilisi

Arrival at Tbilisi International Airport; transfer to a hotel. After breakfast we visit the oldest capital of Georgia Mtskheta, located at the confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers; Mtskheta is the site of the first Christian church in Georgia. We visit Jvari Monastery (6th century), located at the top of the hill. This is the place where the missionary St Nino erected a cross (“jvari” in Georgian) in the 4th century to mark the coming of Christianity to Georgia. We visit 11th century Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, used for centuries for the coronation and burial of Georgian monarchs. More importantly, it is considered one of the holiest places in Georgia since the Robe of Christ is buried here. Svetitskoveli is one of the most beautiful cathedrals in Georgia, with exquisite carvings and frescoes.

Days 2 -10: Sairme

Transfer from Tbilisi to Sairme.

Accommodation at a hotel.

There is the beautiful legend related to the name of the resort. Two brothers - the hunters, who were chasing the trail of a wounded deer, found mineral water Sairme. Water flowed over the stones, red with oxide, and all around it was white with salt. Deer often came here for salt and water. They called the water and the resort itself Sairme, because of herd of deer (the origin of the name comes from the Georgian word “iremi” which in translation means "deer").
